Owner, Jim Robinson graduated from Tulane University with a Master’s in Architecture. In Atlanta, he worked for two architectural firms on both commercial and residential projects. For the last 17 years Jim has been designing and building custom homes on the Cashiers/Highlands Plateau. He and his wife Kristin live here full time and enjoy being active in the community.
Known for his elegant mountain style, Jim focuses on harmonizing with the surroundings and capturing the breathtaking views. His background as an artist drives him to create unique homes that bring his clients’ visions to life. Our homes are designed and built to be timeless, which is why we use natural materials consistent with the North Carolina mountains and local regions.
Jim along with his talented Design South Builders team work closely with the clients throughout the entire build. At the start of the project each client is also assigned a Design Manager and a Project Manager. They work closely with the client and any outside designers or decorators to ensure a seamless building process.
